Hugo Jesús Jamioy Juagibioy is a Colombian poet and storyteller. Born in 1971 at the Sibundoy Valley, in the region of Bëngbe Waman Tabanók. He belongs to the Kamëntsa people, native people of this valley located in Puntamayo department in Colombia.
His poetry is written in his native language Kamsá and Spanish. His speech is seen as a voice that builds a bridge between two cultures, Kamëntsá and the foreign country (the one of the whites). His texts address topics related to our perception, questioning transcendence, naturalness and time, exploring heartbreak, loneliness, sensuality and complaints. He also mention the sacred plant of his people, the yagé in multiple poems.
